Today’s homeowners want the latest, most up-to-date technology in their homes. But who makes it happen? It starts with the Residential Wiremen, who install and connect electrical systems in homes, condos and apartments.
The Santa Clara County JATC trains the Residential Wiremen on how to install and maintain basic electrical and power distribution systems within a residential environment.
Residential Wireman apprentices complete a three-year training program. To qualify for the apprenticeship, you must fulfill the following requirements:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Graduated from high school or received your GED
- Have a valid California Drivers License
- Pass Aptitude Test, which focuses on algebraic functions and reading comprehension.

How To Apply
You must apply in person with a PHOTOCOPY of photo ID and a PHOTOCOPY of high school graduation or GED.
Applications are accepted on the 4th Thursday of every month between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
